What is facial recognition?

Members receive 24/7 access to the Technology Center. This means they can come and go as they please, even during unstaffed hours or days. Our facial recognition system is what makes this possible. Facial recognition works by using an algorithm to identify features of the members face and the system saves this data. When you come in the scanner will compare your face to the saved data allowing you to enter.

The facial recognition system we have at the Technology Center has two cameras so the coordinates are captured in 3d. This means you can’t just hold a picture up to the camera to get in.
